Israel made no secret of its concern of the appointment of John Kerry, the U.S. secretary of state, with their positions in opposition to Israeli policy in the Palestinian issue, especially settlement. The newspaper "Yediot Ahronot", say Israeli officials, "It is true that Kerry is a friend of Israel, but it is not like other Americans who show theirattitudes supportive and in solidarity with Israel in the Senate. The Israeli concern lies in to be the first steps Kerry in the region to support the Palestinian cause. According to Israeli officials, the Kerry would seek to influence the political process and putting too much pressure on Israel to move it, which will help him in the side left his mark in the U.S. State Department, as far as believing Israelis.
Kerry had visited Israel several times, and the most prominent during a meeting with political leaders and security positions contradictory policy of the current government and its president, Benjamin Netanyahu.
