KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) — Minister of Commerce and Industry Amani Bouresli discussed on Monday with the visiting Iraq’s Chairman of National Investment Commission Dr. Sami Al-Aaraji ways of boosting mutual business cooperation between Kuwait and Iraq.
The meeting was an opportunity to get acquainted with major hurdles facing efforts for enhancing the relations at this levels and possible ways of tackling these hindrances, Bouresli said in a statement to KUNA as she emerged from the meeting.
Talks dealt with investment opportunities, available in the two countries, and removing obstacles in the face of Kuwaiti and Iraqi entrepreneurs, she said, affirming significance of cementing the ties between the private sectors of the two countries.
Such meetings serve the higher objective, set by His Highness the Amir of transforming Kuwait into a regional financial-commercial hub.
For his part, Al-Aaraji affirmed necessity of bolstering the economic and business ties between Kuwait and Iraq.
Iraq has a lot of feasible business opportunities, eyed by potential investors worldwide, he said, calling on Kuwaiti businessmen to launch enterprises in his country.
Al-Aaraji’s delegation is visiting Kuwait on January 15-17, on a mission aimed at cementing business cooperation between the two neighboring states
