Barzani, Allawi, discuss means to settle Iraq’s political crisis

ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The President of northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani, has discussed the current political circumstances in the country and means for their settlement, with the Leader of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, according to a Presidency statement on Monday.

“Barzani and Allawi have discussed the implementation of agreements, concluded among Iraq’s political parties and commitment to the Constitution, as well as finding practical means and solutions for the problems inside the political process, its development and progress,” the statement stressed.

The statement pointed out that “Members of the Iraqi Parliament for al-Iraqiya Coalition, Falah al-Naqib and Adnan al-Janaby, attended the meeting that took place in Salahal-Din Resort in Arbil.”

The meeting took place, being part of the last meeting between the Kurdistan and the Federal governments, regarding the suspended dossiers, whilst a Presidential statement pointed out that Iraq’s President, Jalal Talabani, intends to hold a summit meeting for the leaders of political parties to discuss the issues in difference, after his return from New York, where he attended the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.
