Suggested an MP for the Kurdistan Alliance Najiba Najib said the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to the United States in the twelfth of next month is to discuss a number of files, notably the Convention for the purchase of weapons.
Said Najib told all of Iraq [where] that “Iraq is entering the gates of the end of 2011 and the end of the strategic agreement between Iraq and the United States on the question of U.S. withdrawal from the country, and that U.S. President Barack Obama announced earlier to withdraw all his troops with the solutions next year.”
She added that “Iraq had previously demanded the presence of U.S. trainers to train the Iraqi army, where the planes [f16] that have been purchased as well as U.S. arms they need to train the Iraqi army to use it.”
She said Najib said that “Iraq is witnessing many of the abuses on its borders by neighboring countries is the need to protect the air space of all such abuses no need to be Iraq’s draft program for the defense and protection of land borders and sea, all those things are worthy of attention by the government.”
It should be noted that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will travel on an official visit to Washington to meet U.S. President Barack Obama to discuss economic and military cooperation between the two countries after the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.
The end of the year 2011 will witness the withdrawal of all U.S. forces, according to the security agreement entered into by the government with the United States in 2008, which stipulates that the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from all territory and waters and airspace of Iraq not later than 31 December of the year 2011.
