Biden to discuss with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government on the strategic relationship with the U.S.

Washington: Research Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday evening, with the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Barham Salih, the strategic relationship the U.S. – Iraq.

According to a statement issued by the White House that Biden met with favor at the White House and discussed “a range of regional issues, political and security, including the ongoing strategic relationship between the U.S. and Iraq.”

The statement noted that Biden “praised the dynamism of the Kurdish region in Iraq and the historic friendship and partnership between the U.S. and Kurdish peoples.”
For his part, Saleh said the newspaper (Washington Times) U.S. he really believes that the fact that Iraq is a democratic, federal, it is a viable option for the Iraqi Kurds and the Kurds would seek independence “as long as is respect for the Constitution of Iraq.”

He concluded his statement in favor of commenting on the decision to withdraw U.S. troops from his country by the end of this year, saying “I do not doubt that we are concerned about the new face of Iraq in the wake of U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.”
