Biden and Barzani hold a meeting in Arbil

Erbil, 1 December / December (Rn) – The Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani meeting Thursday with Vice President Joe Biden, who visited Erbil earlier today.

Biden arrived in Irbil from Baghdad, where he held talks with officials series coincides with the U.S. withdrawal from the country.
The Biden arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday evening on a visit during which he met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and President Jalal Talabani and other officials.

A statement published by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan said that Biden held a meeting with Barzani and Prime Minister Barham Saleh without addressing the details.

Biden was accompanied by U.S. ambassador in Baghdad James Jeffrey and the commander of the U.S. military in Iraq, Gen. Lloyd Austin, the U.S. consul in Arbil.

Biden’s visit comes in conjunction with the celebration of Iraq to end the U.S. presence after more than eight years after the fall of the former Iraqi regime in 2003.
