Iraqi parliament calls on the leaders of the blocs to hold a

Baghdad, 22 December / December (Rn) – The Iraqi Council of Representatives on Thursday, heads of political blocs to hold an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss the deteriorating security and political situation in the country.

The decision of the House of Representatives Muhammad Al-Khalidi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that “the Presidency of the Council of Representatives informed the heads of political blocs to hold an emergency meeting on Friday,” pointing out that “the Council committed the heads of the blocks to come to the House of Representatives.”

Khalidi explained that “the meeting will discuss the deteriorating security and the explosions that hit the capital this morning as well as discuss the political crisis.”
“The invitation came from the Presidency and all parties must attend the grounds that Parliament is invited to this meeting and not a political bloc.”

And shook the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Thursday morning, a series of coordinated blasts struck different areas and came in conjunction with the political crisis the country has seen since the days.

The Health Ministry said that the blasts that left at least 59 people dead and 179 wounded.

The blasts come just days after issuance of the Iraqi judicial warrant for Vice-President and leader of the Iraqi Tariq al-Hashimi accused of supporting “terrorism”, but the latter denied the charges against him and demanded to transfer the file to the courts of the Kurdistan region.

Maliki also sacked his deputy, Saleh al-Mutlaq, who is also senior commander in the Iraqi List.

The Iraqi government said earlier today it was about to open a file on the support and finance minister and leader of the Iraqi List, Rafie al-Issawi to death squads in the city of Fallujah.

Also threatened the Prime Minister on Wednesday, replacing eight ministers belonging to the Iraqi list if they continued to boycott the government, hinting at the possibility of forming a majority government policy.
