Kuwait's ambassador to the United States, Salem Abdullah Al-Sabah, told KUNA on Tuesday that Sheikh Sabah's visit to Washington "is the start of a new phase in relations between the two countries."
"This historic visit should be seen as the beginning of a new phasein bilateral relations, where we now look forward to the next 25 years of Kuwaiti-American relations and lay new foundations for advancing them to advanced stages," Sabah said.
The Kuwaiti ambassador said that the visit aims to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen relations with the United States of America at various levels, considering it "historic in terms of timing and size", given the challenges experienced by the Arab region, and a high-level government delegation and a delegation of men Kuwaiti businessmen accompanying the Emir of Kuwait during the visit.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Economic Forum will be held next Wednesday at the American Chamber of Commerce, which will bring together a delegation of Kuwaiti businessmen, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Anas Al Saleh, with his counterparts from the American private sector, To discuss opportunities to promote mutual investment between the two countries.
Sheikh Sabah will hold official talks with President Trump at the White House on Thursday, which will discuss bilateral relations and regional and international issues of mutual concern.
On Friday, the second round of strategic dialogue between the two countries will be held to review progress in political, commercial, cultural, security and military relations and push them forward.
