A well-informed source said Tuesday that the son of Kurdistan Region President Barzani will travel to the United States to persuade her to get support for the province's move in the referendum scheduled for Sept. 25.
The source said, (Baghdad today), that "the security adviser to Kurdistan and the son of the President of the region Massurur Barzani, will travel on Wednesday, to Washington."
He added that "the purpose of the visit is to try to convince the USadministration, to get their support in the case of a referendum for separation from Iraq."
The political parties in the Kurdistan region, with the exception of the Movement for Change, the 25 of September, a date for the referendum on independence from Iraq.
The decision was strongly opposed by the federal government, Arab and regional states, as well as capitals of major countries such as Washington, London, Ankara and Tehran.
