Nechirvan Barzani denies any decision to postpone the referendum so far

[Erbil-Ayna] The
Prime Minister of the Kurdistan region, Nechirvan Barzani, denied the existence of any decision to postpone the referendum process in the Kurdistan region, scheduled to be held on the twenty-fifth of September, pointing to the confirmation of the United States of America.
"There is no decision so far to postpone the referendum in the Kurdistan region. A supreme committee for the referendum hasbeen set up to oversee the process. It is the one who must decide on this matter. The decision is to hold the referendum on September 25," Barzani said in an interview. And on the US position of the referendum, said the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government: "In fact the American position was announced previously, as was the visit of the envoy of US President, Brett McGurk to confirm the situation and that the time is not appropriate to hold the referendum. "We have told McGuck that the time is right for the referendum, so both sides had different views on the issue during the meeting," he said.
