Italy has announced important news regarding the maintenance of the dam of Mosul carried out by the giant company [Trivi].

He also praised "the efforts of the outgoing Italian ambassador through the coordination between the two governments and the convergence of views in the interest of the two countries."
Iraq was represented by the Ministry of Water Resources, has extended on the third of last month contract maintenance of the Mosul Dam with the Italian company Trevi.
"The current contract between the parties ends in mid-November, but the amount allocated for the contract has not been exhausted," Water Resources Minister Hassan al-Janabi said in a statement. "Given the real need for joint work at the dam site, we have extended the current contract until Depletion of the amount, up to five months. "
"The US Army Corps of Engineers will continue to supervise the implementation of the work," al-Janabi said, noting that "the cost of supervision of the Corps of Engineers is fully covered by the US government."
Several international reports have warned in recent years of the possibility of collapse of the dam in Mosul because of the fragile soil on which the body of the dam was built in the mid-eighties of the last century.
On March 2, 2016, Iraq signed a contract with the Trevi group worth 273 million euros for the restoration and repair of the Mosul dam for 18 months.
Mosul has been hit by multiple building defects since its inception in the 1980s, built on unstable ground, and US and local officials have repeatedly warned it is in danger of collapse.
As long as the Iraqi government has assured its safety of the dam, despite the publication of guidance on how to avoid damage caused by the collapse.
