BAGHDAD (AFP) - The US Embassy in Baghdad expressed its deep sorrow for the victims of Sunday's earthquake on the Iraqi-Iranian border.
"We are deeply saddened by the injuries and tragic losses caused by the earthquake that occurred onSunday in the Iraqi-Iranian border area," a statement from the embassy said.
The embassy expressed "its condolences to the families on both sides of the border who were affected by this tragedy," noting that "the United States Mission to Iraq stands by our Iraqi friends during this difficult period and wish speedy recovery of the wounded."
