[INA-BAGHDAD] The
King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, received a written message from Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
The message was conveyed by the head of the Iraqi delegation, Minister of Planning and Minister of Trade Salman Jumaili, who arrived in Riyadh yesterday to participate in the meeting of the joint coordinationcouncil between the two countries.
King Salman received Thursday a letter from Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, in which he stressed the depth of brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries and praised the role of the Kingdom in supporting Iraq in its fight against terrorism, The countries of the region and the world at large "
In a letter to King Salman, according to the statement," the Kingdom to support Iraq in the reconstruction of the liberated areas and achieve development as Iraq needs about 100 billion dollars. "
Abadi expressed his hope that "Saudi participation in the Kuwait Conference of the donor countries, which will be held from 14-16 February next, will be the level of strength and brotherly relations between the two countries."
For his part, King Salman said, according to the statement, "the readiness of the Kingdom to provide all kinds of support for Iraq and his help in reconstruction and reconstruction during the next phase," stressing that "Iraq represents the depth of brotherhood and strategic to Saudi Arabia."
He called on Saudi Arabia to "redouble the joint efforts between the two countries to compensate for the missed opportunities and to embark on a new phase that will make Iraq a model of sound development." He praised the great victory achieved by the Iraqis and the great sacrifices they have made to liberate their land from profiting from terrorism.
The Iraqi-Saudi relations have developed steadily in the last three years and the Kingdom opened its embassy in Baghdad for the first time since the invasion of the former regime of Kuwait in 1991.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi signed a visit to Riyadh on October 22 with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and in the presence of the Foreign Minister American Rex Tillerson on the agreement to establish the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, which held its first meeting in Riyadh.
The Council held its first meeting on November 22, and formed 8 specialized committees chaired by ministers.
The Coordination Council is made up of the president, the Minister of Commerce, and 13 ministers, agents, representatives of the ministries and non-affiliated bodies.
