The head of the Committee on Agriculture and Water parliamentary, Fratt Tamimi, that the neighboring countries of Iraq deliberately cut the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates in order to destroy the Iraqi market, and rely on the products of these countries.
"Neighboring countries are using all roads to deprive Iraq of itswater quotas, especially in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, as well as the border rivers with neighboring Iran," al-Tamimi told a press conference.
"We, as a parliamentary committee in contact with the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture to raise the awareness of the farmer and the Iraqi farmer for the use of modern irrigation methods so that we can through the existing water to secure the agricultural sector and also secure drinking water."
Pointing out that the neighboring countries follow the policy of dumping, which is one of the means used against us, so that Iraq remains a consumer country for agricultural products, and therefore we demand border ports to apply customs tariff laws.
