On Saturday, December 8, 2018, the MP of the Sason Alliance, Salman Hassan, reiterated his alliance's rejection of any foreign presence on Iraqi soil and in particular the US occupying forces, while stressing that his alliance would demand the cancellation of the security agreementsigned with Washington.

Hassan said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the coalition of the fallers reject the presence of any occupying force or foreign on Iraqi soil," asserting that "Iraq has armed forces proved to the world the extent of its power to protect the country."

The MP said the Sadr Alliance, which is supported by the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, that "the strategic security agreement signed by Iraq with the United States of America, upon their departure from Iraq, is not feasible and has not been implemented in real."

He stressed that his coalition "will demand the abolition of the Convention because it is useless, and to get US troops out of Iraq."

The member of the House of Representatives for the alliance, "Saron", Salam al-Shammari, called on Thursday (November 29, 2018), the political blocs to a national consensus on ending the presence of foreign troops in the country.

"Iraq is a sovereign state and a government elected by a parliament representing the Iraqi people in all its spectrum and the presence of some foreign forces is a violation of national sovereignty and a threat to the unity and stability of Iraq," Shammari said in an interview with Baghdad today.

Shammari said that "the House of Representatives to work on legislation to end the law of the presence of foreign troops in the country and within a specified period of time."

He stressed that "the Iraqi forces in all their names in addition to the popular mobilization and with him the sons of the original Arab tribes able and able to protect the country from terrorism and any aggression."
