Candidate for Interior Minister Faleh al-Fayadh said, "I will not give up or change my mind about the nomination of the Interior Ministry, and I put the full right of the prime minister."
"From this place, I confirm, and I am one of the candidates in the cabin of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, that I should not runaway from any responsibility I have been charged with," Fayyad said in a speech at a celebration of the building alliance on the occasion of Victory Day.
"My candidature for the post of interior minister is up to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, who decides what he wants. I put all the right in Abdul Mahdi's hand, but I will not give up and I will not withdraw."
"I do not wish to subject Abdul Mahdi to our pressure or to pressure any other party, and from the position of sticking to any responsibility entrusted to it, I announced this position today," adding that "Abdul Mahdi told me that you are the people of responsibility and who nominated me."
