Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz said on Saturday (February 2nd, 2019) that Jordan's presence today is a confirmation of Iraq's successes in overcoming political and economic crises and fighting terrorism.

"Iraq is capable of overcoming the crisis of political and economiccrises and fighting terrorism," said al-Razzaz during a meeting with Abdul Mahdi in the port of Trebil. "The Jordanian government and people are behind the Iraqis."

Al-Razzaz added that "the implementation of agreements between the municipality and the setting of points on the characters should begin."

Earlier, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi met on Saturday, February 02, 2019, his Jordanian counterpart Omar al-Razaz, on the Iraqi-Jordanian border.

"The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, met with his Jordanian counterpart Omar al-Razzaz on the Iraqi-Jordanian lines to implement the cooperation agreement and the opening of the joint industrial zone," Abdul Mahdi said in a statement received by Baghdad.

He added that "the meeting was accompanied by two high-level delegations, to put an agreement on cooperation and exchange of interests between the two countries to enter into force and the opening of the joint industrial zone and the implementation of the joint agreement signed in Baghdad on 29/12/2018."

On February 2, 2019, Jordanian Minister of State for Information and Government Affairs Jumana Ghneimat said that Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razaz would meet Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on the border between the two countries today to sign joint agreements.

Ghanimat said in a press statement that "Al-Razaz will meet Saturday with his counterpart Abdul-Mahdi to sign joint agreements between the two countries," adding that "the agreements will be signed in the border area between Jordan and Iraq."

The Iraqi Council of Ministers has agreed to supply Jordan with 10 thousand barrels per day of Kirkuk crude oil according to "a price equation linked to the price of Brent crude less transport costs and different specifications, and move to the refinery Zarqa," as revealed by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Tuesday (29 January 2019), on the details of the Jordanian request regarding the export of Iraqi oil, in exchange for the reduction of duties on goods imported to Iraq through the port of Aqaba .

Abdul Mahdi said during his weekly conference that "Iraq is moving to expand economic relations with all neighboring countries," revealing "an important meeting with the Jordanian side soon ."

"We are working to liberate the Iraqi economy from dependence on oil as the sole source of income," he said, noting that "Jordan requested the export of 10 thousand barrels of Iraqi oil at the price of Brent minus the wages of transport ."

"The Iraqi-Jordanian industrial zone will provide great service to the two countries by moving the productive sectors in Iraq," the prime minister said.
