The head of the Bayraq al-Khair bloc, Muhammad al-Khalidi, announced today, Monday, that "a gathering of 170 deputies will meet the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, later in the day."
Al-Khalidi said in a statement to local media, "The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, will meet today a gathering of 170 deputiesfrom various political blocs to discuss the possibility of passing the prime minister."
He explained that "the 170 deputies met with a large number of demonstrators in Baghdad and the provinces and saw their opinions on the figures that can be agreed upon and the government is walking for a specific period of time until early elections."
Pointing out that "the gathering will display five names of those who agree to the demonstrations and political blocs, which are Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, Sinan al-Shabibi, Rahim al-Aqili, Abdul-Ghani al-Asadi and Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi."
Al-Khalidi also indicated that "the assembly constitutes a major pressure group in Parliament, and that all the representatives of the assembly will not submit to the will of their blocs except in the case of nominating a person acceptable to the Iraqi people."
