considered the leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, that the next government will be temporary and do not need a lengthy government program, stressing that the program should be based on several tasks, foremost of which isholding early elections.
Allawi said in a statement today, Monday, that "the next government will be a mini-interim government that does not need a lengthy government program."
He called on Allawi to "work to release innocent detainees from peaceful demonstrators and to ensure the treatment of the wounded and the handicapped or those who have committed crimes or attacks against them in the demonstration arenas."
Allawi stressed "the need for the program to include an integrated plan to combat corruption, steal state funds and hold perpetrators accountable, and assign a committee of distinguished experts to work on preparing remedies to save economic conditions and start converting the Iraqi economy into a product instead of being a rentier."
