The Al-Fateh coalition confirmed, on Tuesday, the difficulty of holding early parliamentary elections in the coming period, noting that holding them requires a two-year period.
A coalition spokesman, MP Ahmad Al-Asadi, said in a press statement that "there will be no early elections," noting that "with the current crisis of the commission, early elections will not take place until after two years."
Al-Asadi added, “Iraq will not be Turkey or an American or any other, but rather it will be Iraqi only. What links us with the Islamic Republic are ideological and historical ties,” stressing that “America is an occupying country that committed a major crime by killing leaders of victory.”
He explained, "The diplomatic visits are not a breach, and the American ambassador meets Iraqi officials more than the Iranian," noting that "we did not meet any American official after the martyrdom of Hajj Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and General Qasim Soleimani."
