A representative source in the Kurdistan Alliance revealed, on Wednesday, the intention of nominating former Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Zebari to the right of the foreign minister in the Al-Kazemi government and excluding Fuad Hussein from the nomination in compliance with the opinion of all political forces.
The source said in a press statement, "The political forces in the Kurdistan Alliance will submit to the Prime Minister and the rest of the non-Kurdish political blocs the nomination of former Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari instead of Fouad Hussein, who faced opposition from Shiite and Sunni forces as one of the ministers of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi."
The source, who preferred not to be named, added, "The nomination of the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, for two reasons, the first of which is respected by all political forces in addition to his professional work in the diplomatic corps and the international acceptability it possesses."
He continued, "The most acceptable reason for the position by the Kurdistan Alliance forces is to return consideration to Zebari in particular and the forces of the Kurdistan Alliance in general after he was dismissed with the political will from his position as finance minister," likely "passed by all political forces."
