Makiya describes him as "entrepreneur, perseverant, cultured, patriotic, sincere in the performance of his projects, and bold despite the apparent calm."
He was a journalist and a political writer for the conference, which was issued by the National Congress. He also published his articles on the situation in Iraq in Arab newspapers, such as Al-Sharq Al-Awsat and Al-Hayat, in addition to some American and British newspapers.
