The Kremlin - Putin discussed with Al-Kazemi the cooperation and stability of the global oil market

[Baghdad-Ain] The
Kremlin said today, Monday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi the stability of the global hydrocarbon market and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Kremlin press service also said in a statement that the Russian President and Prime Minister of Iraq, a member of the "OPEC" organization, positively evaluated the "OPEC +" agreement, and pointed to the importance of continuing joint efforts in this direction.
"The agreements reached with the participation of Russia and Iraq in the framework of the (OPEC +) formula with a view to overcoming the current acute phase of the oil crisis were positively evaluated, and the importance of continuing effective joint efforts in this direction was noted," the statement said.
Views were also exchanged on a number of regional issues, especially focusing on the Syrian settlement, where it was agreed to further coordinate steps to ensure the stability of the situation in Syria in the long term, and to restore its sovereignty.
The Russian President congratulated the Iraqi Prime Minister on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, and agreed to continue contacts at various levels.
Russia and Iraq within the "OPEC +" alliance are cutting oil production to support the faltering energy markets, as a result of the Corona pandemic.
The "OPEC +" countries reduce oil production in May and June from 2020 by about 10 million barrels per day.
