The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed a forthcoming meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to discuss the financial situation in the country.
"The government is moving towards finding solutions to double salaries and pension treatment for the Rafha detainees, to providesome financial liquidity," the committee’s rapporteur, Representative Ahmad Al-Saffar, said in a press statement.
He added, "Justice must be achieved in reducing the differences between the salaries of employees and not equaling them because there are employees who have great service and others who have less", stressing the need for the government to fight rampant financial corruption in collecting revenues, whether in border ports or taxes.
He pointed to the need to stop wasting the private spending of the ministries, especially with regard to petty cash, protections and others, stressing that "it is possible to hold a meeting of the Finance Committee with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and in the presence of the Minister of Finance in order to discuss the financial situation and the size of revenues and debts in the country."
He explained, that the Ministry of Finance has the powers to issue temporary bonds to finance the financial deficit, and when revenues come to pay off loans with interest, and this is a procedure in place in most of the countries of the region, pointing out that "in the rise in oil prices to about $ 45 a barrel, if achieved, the government can Covering salary expenses. "
He pointed out that the budget is supposed to reflect what the government program aims to support the vital sectors, noting that "it will be a semi-annual budget and will focus on salaries, the health and security aspect, and preparing for early elections."
