The Ministry of Interior announced the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the assassination of security expert Hisham al-Hashemi in front of his home in Baghdad.

"
He added, "Al-Ghanmi also ordered the formation of an investigative council headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Federal Security Affairs and membership of the Directorate of Professional and Administrative Inspection and the Ministry's Operations Directorate against the security piece holding the land at the site of the accident."
