[Baghdad-Where]
Representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ahmed Al-Kinani, confirmed that parliament will resume holding its sessions starting next week to complete the election law.
Al-Kinani said in a statement, today, Tuesday: "A meeting was held a few days ago at the house of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, in the presence of heads of political blocs and a number of specialists and advisors to discuss electoral districts."
He added that "agreement on resolving electoral districts must be made before the parliament session," referring to "the Iraqi street's desire to complete the election law and send it to the Presidency of the Republic for approval."
Al-Kinani added that "Parliament will hold its sessions starting next week," noting that "the postponement of the sessions came due to the circumstances of Corona and the injury of large numbers of employees and representatives."
The Parliamentary Legal Committee had confirmed earlier that it was awaiting a deliberative meeting regarding the electoral districts, while noting that the House of Representatives had not agreed to set a date for its next session.
