Today, Saturday, August 22, 2020, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi discussed with the leader of the Republicans in the US Senate, bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States.
"The latter received a phone call from the leader of the Republican majority in the US Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell," Al-Kazemi's media office said in a statement received by (Baghdad Today).
During the call, according to the statement, "bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States were discussed, and ways to strengthen them at the economic and security levels, as well as support for joint cooperation in various educational and cultural fields."
And Mitch McConnell expressed his "support for the efforts of the Iraqi government and its efforts to achieve stability in Iraq."
This comes within a number of bilateral files that Al-Kazemi is discussing, during his current visit to the American capital, Washington, at the head of a government delegation, according to the same statement.
