Al-Kazemi defends the special grade appointments and attacks its critics

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi defended, on Tuesday, the appointments he made recently regarding special grades, while stressing that the method of assignment came within the law and administrative procedures.

Al-Kazemi said in a statement that "On Monday, we directed a series of necessary changes in some important administrative sites in state institutions." This step faced various reactions, some of them from the political forces that declared their rejection of quotas in all its forms, which undoubtedly represents a reflection of a steadfast popular stance towards state building.

Al-Kazemi stressed in his statement, "These necessary changes came in line with an administrative and legal context imposed by the end of the official legal periods for some officials, and even exceeding those periods from their ceilings for long periods, and that the procedure did not come to bring about qualitative changes in institutions."

"On this basis, most of the names presented were chosen from within the institutions themselves, or from specialists in certain fields, taking into account the factor of integrity and experience, and ensuring the national balance."

And he indicated that “the positions of some political blocs on the issue of quotas must be accompanied by specific information about this alleged quotas. Affects it, how is it accused that the changes relied on partisan quotas?

He pointed out that "we wish everyone, based on the reality of national responsibility, to deal with the facts and contexts of the state, and its most important attestation is that the aforementioned variables took place through the natural and necessary path to activate the state's work and activate its role to serve the aspirations of our people and implement its demands, and were not subject to the partisan quota mechanisms."
