Baghdad The Iraqi parliament has completed voting on all articles of the health insurance law, consisting of 47 articles, under the title “Integrated health services for every Iraqi citizen regardless of his financial or employment status,” but the final vote on the law as a whole will take place after comments are made The government and the Ministry of Health are included in the scope of the amendments to the law prepared by the Parliament and the Ministry of Health Committee.

Member of the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee, Representative Hassan Khati, affirmed that the passage of this law will grant the right to every citizen to participate in health insurance and obtain decent services, whether from private hospitals or private wards in government hospitals, and these services will be supported by the health insurance fund that is being established for this the purpose.

He explained that, after the law came into effect, any citizen can go to private clinics, private laboratories, or the private wing of the government hospital, and only pay a small portion that does not exceed 10 percent of the total cost, and the remainder of it is paid by the health insurance fund.

With regard to the insurance subscription allowance, it is paid once in a lifetime and not monthly or annually, and it is considered a financial fee for receiving the health insurance card, and the subscription can be repeated if a person loses or damaged his card, and the subscription allowance differs between the rich and the poor, as it starts with those with degrees Higher education, with a subscription allowance of 100 thousand dinars, and then gradually down to 10 thousand for owners of lower degrees and all citizens.

Deputy Khatti indicates that the monthly deducted premium for health insurance is 1 percent of all employees and what corresponds to them in the private sector, which means that if the employee's salary is 750 thousand dinars, his monthly installment is seven thousand five hundred dinars, and this covers his card and the cards of his wife, children and parents If they live with him, his brothers and sisters are all with this amount, and it is not repeated for each one of them, and it is shown that all citizens - other than employees - are measured at the lowest percentage, as there are exemptions by issuing the card for free and without a monthly installment, and that concerns a group of categories mentioned In the law, including the poor according to the coverage of the protection network, the handicapped in the security forces, and citizens sick with hereditary blood diseases, cancerous diseases, and other segments.
