The House of Representatives raised its session, which it resumed today, Wednesday, until further notice, while media reports, quoting a representative source, indicated that a quarrel had broken out inside Parliament, due to the statements of the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, about the popular crowd, inside the council, between a number of representatives .
The media department of the House of Representatives said, in a brief statement that Ayna News has seen, Parliament "has lifted its session and the date of the next session will be notified later."
In turn, a parliamentary source said that "a quarrel broke out inside the hall of the parliament between representatives from the Shiite political forces and Kurdish forces, due to Hoshyar Zebari's recent statements."
Earlier in the day, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, the former Minister of Finance, Hoshyar Zebari, demanded an apology for statements he described as insulting to the PMF.
During the House of Representatives session, Al-Kaabi said, "We will not accept offending any official institution in the Iraqi state, and Hoshyar Zebari's statement is rejected," calling for his "submission of an apology that befits the role of the popular crowd and its sacrifices."
The former Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, appeared in a TV interview, in which he said, "The targeting of Erbil is due to the fact that the factions consider the region close to the United States," adding that "the factions target Baghdad and Erbil as the terrorist ISIS targeted them," he said.
Zebari pointed out that "some factions accuse Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazimi of being America's first man in Iraq, and they say it publicly," noting that "facing these factions requires popular mobilization, which is already there."
