Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's office announced, on Saturday, the start of discussions of the delegations of the Iraqi and Egyptian governments.
The office said in a statement, "The discussions of the delegations of the Iraqi and Egyptian governments began with the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi and his Egyptian counterpart."
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly arrived in Baghdad on an official visit this morning.
Al-Iraqiya TV reported, with urgent news, that "Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly arrived today with his delegation to the capital, Baghdad, on an official visit."
"The Egyptian government delegation, headed by Madbouly, includes ministers and sector officials, and they will sign memoranda of understanding in Baghdad with the Iraqi government," said the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf.
He added, "The signing of the Memoranda of Understanding is an enhancement of the joint tripartite action mechanism between Baghdad, Cairo and Amman, and we are keen on these efforts in accordance with equal and shared interests."
Al-Sahhaf explained, "Iraq is working today to diversify its strategic relations with its Arab depth, especially with Jordan and Egypt, to take advantage of the capabilities that Egypt has in the housing, construction, agriculture and health sectors, and the goal is to maximize Iraqi imports and economic gates."
He pointed out, "Iraq and Egypt have completed in-depth dialogues that will re-broadcast the programs that improve communication at the level of expertise, build capacities and enhance the joint investment environment at the level of the private sectors in the two countries, and this matter will lead to partnerships between the two sectors and will end with joint facilitations on sufficient levels and areas."
Al-Sahaf added, "In the belief of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the Iraqi government, we have a plan represented by a multi-gated economic system and strategic partnerships, and that it can only rise with a partnership from the private sector and investment companies.
"There is an exceptional and favorable opportunity to start a serious business characterized by legal facilities and facilities at the administrative and logistical level," the ministry’s spokesman affirmed.
