Al-Kazemi accuses parties of obstructing early elections

[Baghdad-Where]
On Monday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi accused unidentified parties of placing obstacles to holding early parliamentary elections.
This came in statements he made during the first regular session of the Council of Entities not associated with a Ministry and independent bodies.

Al-Kazemi said, according to a statement from his office. "The current government is transitional and aims to reach early elections," adding that "there are some who are trying to put obstacles in front of it."

It is scheduled to hold early elections on the sixth of next June.

Al-Kazemi pointed out that "there are great challenges facing the country, and we are making efforts around the clock to overcome them and put the country on the right path."

He also pointed out that "the convening of the Council of Entities not associated with a Ministry and the Independent Bodies is a new initiative for the first time in successive governments, and it will be held on a monthly basis."

He said, "The council aims to communicate with the authorities and bodies, to overcome obstacles, challenges and difficulties, deliberate, take directions and refer what is required to the Council of Ministers for a vote on it."
