Immunity for what?
Immunity for what?
The condescension of the US administration is beyond belief!
Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta says that US troops staying on in Iraq beyond 2011 must have immunity from prosecution, as if Iraqis are keen on their staying on. What is amazing is the arrogance. They obviously feel that they deserve preferential treatment, but conveniently ignore the fact that they invaded Iraq having lied to the world after blatantly fabricating evidence regarding WMDs. They went ahead and devastated Iraq, destroyed its infrastructure, killed a million civilians, secured billion dollar contracts (most recent is the $3 billion F-16 deal) to usurp their resources and perpetuate its role as the universal bully and strong-arm tactician. They created this whole mess but don’t want to answer for their crimes against the Iraqi civilians and have the temerity to demand immunity for this mafia-style extortion.
The US has no shame, nuking Japan, bombing the hell out of Vietnam but left in a hurry, destroyed but never controlled Iraq, now getting deservedly thrashed in Afghanistan and looking for an exit strategy! World conscience should ask the US: Who will pay for the lives lost, families destroyed and countries ruined? Rather than getting immunity, US leaders responsible for starting these wars and the malicious killing of millions of civilians should be in the dock for crimes against humanity!
