Maliki, Obama calls for implementation of the strategic framework agreement after the withdrawal

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki today, Friday, on the necessity of activating the strategic framework agreement, which he said it painted a path to the nature of relations between Iraq and the United States, after the withdrawal of U.S. troops end of the year,

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office that it came during the “closed-circuit television with U.S. President Barack Obama held this evening,” he said, adding that President Obama has invited Prime Minister Maliki to visit the United States.

And Prime Minister Maliki, according to the statement, “the need to activate the Strategic Framework Agreement which charted a course to the nature of relations between Iraq and the United States, after the withdrawal of U.S. troops end of this year.”

The statement said that “the views of both sides were identical in the need to initiate a new phase of strategic relations within the strategic framework agreement after the withdrawal schedule in the end of this year.”

According to the statement, the two sides also agreed to me the need to hold a meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Higher Strategic Framework Agreement within two weeks.

The two sides called to the importance of “Implementation of the vocabulary of the strategic framework agreement in the scientific, cultural, developmental, and others, in the interest of both countries and peoples.”

The statement said the U.S. president invited to the Prime Minister to visit the United States, and promised the last meeting them soon.
