Financial Representatives: Government violates the Constitution not to send the final accounts for the budgets of past years

Baghdad, November 2 (Rn) – The Finance Committee representative, Wednesday, that the government violated the constitution for not sending the final accounts of the budgets of the past to the Council, indicating that a decision was taken unanimously not to approve the budget of 2012 unless the Government provides the final accounts.

A member of the Committee Najiba Najib told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), “The government violated the Iraqi constitution, the issue of sending the final accounts to the Parliament for the purpose of audited,” indicating that “the government did not send the final accounts for years of financial budgets.”

Najib explained that “the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives has unanimously decided not to approve the budget next year, after the government to send the final accounts,” indicating that “the Commission decided that this thing, but fear that the decision affects the public interest.”

She said “delay in approving the budget will affect the release of funds for projects, so the prosecution would not be the cause of the delay in delivery of services to citizens.”

And carried the Ministry of Finance earlier in the ministries and government bodies responsible for failure to submit financial statements to the budgets of the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 because of the neglect is justified in the provision of final accounts for the financial expenses.
