Eighth session of Iraqi-UAE Committee starts this month

Baghdad (NINA) – Ministry of Trade announced the start of the meetings of the eighth session of the Joint Iraqi-UAE Committee in the second half of this month.

Hashim Mohammed, Director General of the Foreign Economic Relations Department at the Ministry said in a press statement that the meetings are scheduled to begin at the period from 15-16 this month in Abu Dhabi.

He added that the Iraqi delegation that will take part in meetings will be headed by Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari and comprising representatives from the Secretariat of the Cabinet and ministries of Trade, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Oil, and Agriculture in addition to the Investment Commission and Chairman of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce as well as representatives from the Federation of Iraqi businessmen, while the UAE side will be headed by the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He explained “the Committee will discuss, over two days, topics regarding commercial, financial, investment, economic, technical, and educational aspects and according to the proposed agenda in a preparation to reach recommendations aiming to strengthen and develop economic and trade relations in service of the interests of the two countries and their development.”
