The Fatah alliance headed by Hadi al-Amiri said on Saturday that he does not support the assumption of the outgoing prime minister Haider Abadi for a second term.
"The alliance does not support the assumption of outgoing Prime Minister Haider Abadi for a second term, but he does not object if there is a national consensus."
He added that "has been informed Abadi to get the post of prime ministernext to him to run for himself with the rest of the candidates of the coalition," noting: We will not make the nomination of Abadi in advance or a condition of the agreement with the other blocs.
The winner pointed out that "the alliance of conquest and victory and others are not a final alliance, but a road map and understandings to establish a political alliance and did not rise to the final coalition."
A number of social networking sites have published reports of an agreement between outgoing Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and former Defense Minister Khalid al-Obeidi, accompanied by Iraqi army officers, to carry out a military coup if Abadi loses the chance to win a second term.
