We keenly follow up Iraqi funds – Taifourt

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Deputy parliament speaker Aref Taifour said today that the parliament is keenly following the investigations related to the fate of Iraqi funds and waiting the final report from the General Inspector for the Reconstruction of iraq, according to a statement issued by his office.

The statement added that Taifour met deputy General Inspector for the Reconstruction of Iraq Ginger Cruze and discussed the fate of Iraqi funds in a transparent way.

Cruze, on the other hand, said that there are efforts to follow-up the funds spent during US civil administrator Paul Bremer with the amount of 20 billion dollars, which also needs the cooperation of the Central Bank of Iraq.

A meeting is expected to be held with the Iraqi Financial Auditing Department.
