Set up this morning 24/10/2011 the United Nations in Iraq (UNAMI) to celebrate the 66 anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

Mr. and opened the Special Representative of the Secretary-General Martin Kobler celebration with a speech about the role of United Nations assistance to Iraq. Then, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Rose Nuri Shaways speech at the ceremony as well as Mr. Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, a speech on this occasion.

Then Mr. Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, a speech where he emphasized that Iraq was one of the founders of the organization and was one of the fifty-one and the institution of the United Nations that attended the San Francisco and signed the statement on 26 / June / 1945.

The government’s efforts to normalize and correct relationship with the United Nations after the democratic change and the fall of the dictatorship and the efforts of the government and the ministry out of the provisions of Chapter VII and that the government is serious about ending this file with the State of Kuwait.

Asked the Minister of the United Nations agencies, the importance of field presence to serve the Iraqi mission also stressed that UNAMI will have all forms of support during the next stage after the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and provide the necessary protection.

The audience listened to a televised speech from Mr. Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations on the occasion then presented the footage technical and chorus Mnhdi Unit United Nations guards from Fiji.
