The minister said Rafie al-Issawi told AFP, on the sidelines of a meeting with the International Monetary Fund in theJordanian capital of Amman: "There is a real acceleration in relation to the attention paid by the international community to Syria (...), a real concern about the use of chemical weapons."
Issawi said: "I have personally felt that the changes in Syria will get by a short time," explaining that "the battles are now circulating in the vicinity of Damascus airport, and we have a feeling that there is an acceleration in the events. "
He said the Iraqi minister, that the fighting in Damascus show that the change could be soon, pointing to an acceleration of international efforts aimed at the regime of President Assad.
