BAGHDAD (AFP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrives in Baghdad on Sunday, a day after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Iraq.
It quoted Iranian sources , "Zarif 's visit is trying to absorb {US} incitement aimed at isolating Iran regionally and emphasize the strength of the joint relationsbetween Baghdad and Tehran."
The sources said that "Zarif will discuss in Baghdad , four main topics namely financial exchanges and agree on a mechanism for such exchanges, and the abolition of visas to nationals of the two countries, and discussed the mechanism of completing the railway line that connects the two countries through Shalamcheh - Basra, in addition to cooperation in the oil field."
A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Ghasemi, announced yesterday that Zarif will head on his visit to Iraq , a high - ranking political and economic delegation , which includes a team of Iranian businessmen to participate in business seminars are held in a number of Iraqi cities, particularly Karbala and Sulaymaniyah.
The Iraqi government has asked the US Treasury Department to put it on the list of countries that can deal with Iran in the purchase of electricity and natural gas in addition to refined oil against the backdrop of the economic embargo imposed by the United States on Iran.
Tehran believes that the cancellation of entry visas will deepen the economic and social ties between the two countries to serve the interests of the two friendly neighboring peoples, but the Iraqi government has not yet decided on this issue.
During his stay in Baghdad, the Iranian minister will also meet with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Ali al-Hakim, both President Barham Salih and Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
If its not on Iraqi Dinar Chat...It's probably crap!
